Fall Feline Spay & Neuter Special: Frequently Asked Questions
At All About Pets, we are dedicated to helping our community by providing high-quality, accessible care for both household pets and community cats. Here is everything you need to know about our fall special:
What is included in the price?
- Feline Spay ($195): Includes a comprehensive physical exam, the spay procedure, post-operative pain management, a Rabies vaccine, and a protective e-collar.
- Feline Neuter ($150): Includes a comprehensive physical exam, the neuter procedure, post-operative pain management, and a Rabies vaccine. (Note: E-collars are not sent home with male cats. In the rare event your cat is licking the incision, an e-collar can be purchased separately).
What is NOT included in the special?
This special covers the essentials. It does not include microchips, FELV or FVRCP vaccines, IV catheters, or blood work. These can be discussed with our team if you wish to add them.
How do appointments and the booking fee work?
Same-day appointments are available! We do not require a separate pre-surgical exam to get your cat on the schedule. To hold your appointment, a $150 booking fee is required. Please note that this booking fee is non-refundable unless cancellations are made at least 2 business days in advance by 9:00 AM (for example, if your appointment is on a Monday, you must notify us by 9:00 AM on the Thursday prior).
What are the drop-off and pick-up expectations?
- Household Cats: Drop off in the morning at your scheduled time, and pick up your cat before we close the same afternoon.
- Feral and Community Cats: Ferals must be picked up before closing on the day of surgery—we do not keep feral cats overnight. Additionally, caretakers must provide a safe, climate-controlled space for the cat to stay overnight in their trap (or carrier, if one was provided at drop-off) during their recovery.
What if a cat is found to be pregnant?
To continue supporting population control in our community, we will proceed with the spay procedure on cats that are found to be pregnant.
How does this work for feral and community cats?
Helping community cats is a huge part of our mission!
- No appointments needed: You do not need to book an appointment or pay a booking fee for feral cats. Simply bring them in on our designated feral days (please text or email us to confirm which days we are accepting them).
- Safety requirements: All feral cats must be brought in a secure trap.
- Feral procedures: Feral cats will receive a limited physical exam. They will also receive a mandatory ear-tip to identify them as altered community cats. For safety reasons, e-collars are not provided for ferals.
